About the program/Scholarship:
King Hussein Cancer Center is delighted to offer volunteering opportunities in SIWAR Volunteer Program in Jordan. SIWAR (Arabic for bracelet) was chosen as the name for the volunteer program, as they see SIWAR as the unification of people together in the fight against cancer, which requires support from the entire community. The volunteers are a special part of the care provided by the King Hussein Cancer Center. They are simply the life-blood of the organization!
Volunteers’ Responsibilities:
Support our cancer patients with activities that give them a much-needed break from treatment
Fundraise and raise awareness about our campaigns
Increase public awareness about cancer prevention and early detection
About King Hussein Cancer Center:
The King Hussein Cancer Foundation- Governing Body (The Foundation) is an independent, non-governmental, not-for-profit institution founded in 2001 by Royal Decree to combat cancer in Jordan and the Middle East region. The Foundation is governed by a Board of Trustees comprised of a dedicated group of prominent volunteers chaired by HRH Princess Ghida Talal.
The Foundation is the legal umbrella organization responsible for:
- The King Hussein Cancer Foundation- Fundraising, Advocacy
- The King Hussein Cancer Center- Comprehensive Cancer Care & Research
