AR Technology for Indoor Positioning Systems PhD
Situational awareness is key to emergency response. With additional sensor data and knowledge shared by other operators, Augmented Reality provides the ready means to enhance response times and link directly with digital assets. The research will explore the potential of these technologies in a series of case study investigations.
The potential technology has cross-over potential for retail environments where consumer activity can be enhanced in real-time, with personalised advertising provided dynamically or specific navigation in purchasing scenarios.

- This is a funded PhD studentship. Students of any Fee Status (UK/EU & RoW) are eligible for the project.
- Start date : As soon as possible
- Candidates should have a minimum of an upper second (2.1) honours degree (or equivalent) preferably in Computer Science/ Computer Vision / Mathematics / Informatics but candidates in other degrees related to Engineering or related quantitative fields would be considered.
- Candidates with an MSc degree in these disciplines will be desirable.
