About program
Along with the growing importance of technology in today’s business life and the effects of industry 4.0, the management systems have come into use for nearly all processes. Therefore, the need for IT specialists capable of information processing and management is increases with each passing day.
The Master’s Program in Management Information Systems focuses on redressing the balance between technical skills and business processes. Accordingly, its objective is to raise qualified personnel with a good command of information production processes, who can keep pace with new innovations and developments, and direct themselves according to the sectoral shortcomings.
With an intention to enable the active and productive use of information and communication resources of a business, the Program aims to form the essential theoretical and practical infrastructure for gathering the necessary information, technology, business processes and business managers in order to meet the business requirements. Moreover, the Program not only develops the skills of students in analysis, communication, decision-making and critical thinking but also enables the students to gain the dynamism required by the information and communication technologies sector.
As the field of Management Information Systems is interdisciplinary, it has a curriculum, which has a place in nearly all sectors, and makes a major contribution for the students to catch the era by improving their business knowledge with IT specialty. Additionally, the Program teaches the students to analyze and estimate the trends enabling the organizations to gain competitive advantages. In this context, we can emphasize that the graduates of this Program become the personnel rendering the decisions possible in organizations.
The Master’s Program in Management Information Systems is a specialty program on management information systems in association with the disciplines of Informatics and Business Management within the scope mentioned above.
The Master’s Program in Management Information Systems offers both thesis and non-thesis options. For the thesis program, the students are required to take 7 courses with 21 local credits in total, a seminar course and thesis; pass these courses minimum with CB grade, complete min. 120 AKTS in total and have minimum 2.50/4.00 weighted grade point average in order to graduate. For the non-thesis program, the students have to take 10 courses with 30 local credits in total and a graduation project, pass these courses minimum with CB grade, fulfill min. 120 AKTS in total and have minimum 2.50/4.00 weighted grade point average in order to complete the Program.
