The M.Acc. degree requires 30 credit hours (10 courses) to complete, exclusive of your foundational proficiencies. Your core courses provide advanced work in the areas of financial and managerial accounting. Additionally, you will explore contemporary professional issues, auditing, tax and financial management. To prepare you for a demanding, yet lucrative career, all of your courses strongly emphasize the development of analytical, presentation and communication skills.
The M.Acc. degree offers you the choice of either the Professional Accountancy or Professional Taxation specialization. These options enable you to tailor your degree toward your career goals. With a Master of Accountancy, you can pursue accounting titles such as information technology accountant, managerial accountant or forensic accountant. You might also become a chief financial officer, auditor or revenue specialist.

Academic requirements
To be considered for admission into the University of West Florida’s online M.Acc. program, you must have an undergraduate degree from an accredited institution. Other criteria for successful admission include:
A cumulative undergraduate GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
Due to COVID-19 and in an effort to better accommodate our students, the M.Acc. will no longer require the GRE/GMAT through Summer 2023.
