University of Liverpool
Description
Original and inclusive for 140 years, we’re a truly inspirational place to learn and research. We’re also a place where students develop a rich world view, as well as the skills and confidence to thrive in today’s connected world. Although our main campus is in the heart of Liverpool, we also have a partner university in Suzhou, China. Many of our students start their studies in Liverpool, have the opportunity to spend time studying in China. And wherever you learn with us, you’ll find the same distinctive and welcoming culture.
Top reasons to study here
A warm welcome
Voted the fourth friendliest city in the world by Rough Guides, Liverpool is a wonderfully welcoming place. We share and shape the city’s spirit – opening our doors to learners from all walks of life. This may be the first warm welcome you’ll get from Liverpool. Hopefully there’ll be many more to come.
A place to belong
We’re as diverse as the city we’re part of, with a vibrant student community drawn from across the country and around the world. On and off campus, you’ll meet people and ideas of every kind. It makes learning here a uniquely rich experience. And it shows that, when it comes to our roots, we’re as open and accessible as we’ve always been.
A pioneering spirit
When Oliver Lodge – one of our professors – made the world’s first public radio transmission from our halls in 1894, he sparked a tradition of progress and original thinking that stayed with us ever since. We remain fascinated by the big issues in the world around us. Our students and staff think freely and explore the ideas that really get them excited. Our research and teaching take each other forward every day. And whether it’s a world-changing idea or one student’s personal first, we celebrate and support progress of every kind.
