VegGo is offering a remote volunteer opportunity as a it’s looking for web Developers.
Description of role and desired impact:
The Junior Developer will be responsible for coding in JavaScript, NodeJS, bootstrap 5, HTML 5 and CSS , python Familiarity with backend and some knowledge of frontend preferred.

Duties & responsibilities
- Participating in the design and creation of scalable software
- Producing clean and efficient code based on specifications
- Writing clean, functional code on the front-end and back-end
- Testing, troubleshooting and debugging coding issues
- Resolving complex technical design issues
- Troubleshooting, debugging and upgrading software when needed
- Developing and managing well-functioning databases, and applications (if needed)
- Performing software tests to ensure responsiveness and efficiency
- Verifying and deploying programs and systems when needed
- Determining applications responsiveness when needed
- Designing, coding, testing, maintaining and documenting programs based on the Technical Manager’s requests
- Analyzing software requirements and feasibility, staying alert to emerging technologies & programing trends
- Creating technical documentation for reference and reporting
- Compiling timely, accurate and comprehensive reports as requested
About VegGo:
VegGo is the first project of its kind in the Middle East and North Africa, that deals with the idea of veganism through three perspectives; (human health perspective, animal rights perspective and environmental protection perspective). It hopes to contribute in spreading awareness of veganism and creating useful content based on scientific approaches, in a way that is suitable for the people of the Middle East and North Africa region.
Eligibility criteria:
- Knowledge of programming applications is preferred.
- Proficient in JavaScript, HTML and CSS.
- Proficient in MySQL.
- The ability to thrive in the work environment.
- Strong ability in written and verbal communication.
- Knowledge of programming language and technical terminology.
- Ability to develop and express ideas and processes clearly
- Passion for close collaboration with QA engineers and Product managers
- Ability to break down a complex problem into more manageable chunks
- “Getting things done” attitude
- knowledge with container technologies, such as Docker
- knowledge with distributed data processing, real-time data streaming and messaging systems
