Career at University of Central Arkansas

The mission of Career Services Center is to support UCA’s Strategic Plan by assisting students in maximizing their educational experience by providing access to career coaching, programs, presentations, experiential learning, and employment opportunities to empower all students to be active participants in their career development, through learning during and after college

International students enrolled in the F-1 visa program can apply for Optional Practical Training (OPT) when they graduate. UCA international graduates are guided through the OPT application process by our staff and have a very high application approval rate for both postcompletion OPT and STEM OPT. An estimated 95% of students approved for OPT were hired by various companies and organizations, including Acxiom, Price Waterhouse, Microsoft, State of Texas, and Kate Spade.

Scholarships

  • The first scholarship is the Out-of-State Tuition Scholarship. All international students are automatically offered a full out-of-state tuition scholarship after they are fully admitted and choose to live in university housing.
  • The second scholarship is the International Student Merit Scholarship and it is available to new UCA students who start in Fall semester. The scholarship award is $4,000 per semester for a maximum award of $32,000. Awards will be for fall and spring semesters only.
  • The third scholarship is the Global Citizen Scholarship and this scholarship is available to our current UCA students. International students must have completed 12 hours. Recipients will receive an award not to exceed 12 credit hours (undergraduate) or 9 credit hours (graduate) for the fall and spring semesters plus the International Administration Fee.
  • UCA has added on their website scholarships awarded from other UCA divisions in order for international students to have a complete understanding of the scholarship options at UCA.
