Research

Newgiza University is a research-oriented university that aspires to be a leading example of a university built on principles of dedication and discipline, by creating a community of interdisciplinary researchers, professors and students who foster excellence and encourage innovation.

Therefore, the Research Center at Newgiza University is pleased to announce the selection of our interdisciplinary research project for funding by the Science, Technology & Innovation Funding Authority (STIFA). The project that contributes to the global response to the COVID-19 pandemic, aims to provide new insights on the route of entry of Covid-19 by FDA-approved repurposed drugs.

The project is led by Prof. Dr. Ahmed Ihab, as a Principle Investigator, and Dr. Nada El-Ekiaby, both at the School of Medicine at NGU, in collaboration with Prof. Dr. Hesham Sadek, Southwestern University, Prof. Dr. Medhat Al-Ghobashy from the School of Pharmacy at NGU and their corresponding teams.

Research uniqueness at NGU is acquired by the number of research projects in different schools and the number of interdisciplinary research projects with the corresponding staff and students involved and most importantly, the number of international peer-reviewed publications.

This project comes as the fifth fund granted by STIFA and the seventh grant in total that the Research Center has been awarded in the last three years.

Career

NGU offers its students various internship opportunities on campus during the winter and the summer breaks. Students get to experience work at NGU at different departments across campus where they gain professional experience and build both their skills and knowledge base which builds on their competitive edge when entering the workforce.

NGU Library Services support learning, teaching, and research at NGU and consists of two libraries (Health Sector Library – Business, Economics and Politics Library) located in building A and B, covering a wide range of specialist subjects.

ICT services

NGU’s facilities include a dedicated computer cluster for students’ use, in addition to those available in the library. Learning spaces are connected to the university’s server network and the internet, and wireless hotspots are available throughout the campus. In addition, all faculties and many of the internal departments have computer suites offering a range of general and specialist software, as well as printers and scanners. Students also have access to their own dedicated university email account, central file storage, and free IT training courses at a variety of levels.

Campus life

Students at NGU enjoy very rich student life with diverse opportunities for co-curricular activities. You can be part of any of its clubs and associations, and its several health and fitness programs. Come and travel to Aswan to attend a medical convoy and serve children in a Nubian Village, join your friends in a singing contest with the music club, help raise awareness on the important issues through the UNAI Hub at NGU, score a goal with our soccer team, become inspired at a talk by Prof. Sir. Magdy Yacoub, attend international conferences and become an NGU ambassador.
Through creating a safe environment for NGU students to explore their leadership and professional skills and empowering them to serve others, the Student Life Office offers its students with diverse opportunities to discover their potentials.

Student clubs

1- (B.E.A.T) Business Entertainment and activities Team

Through various events and student activities, B.E.A.T breaks students’ life routine and zone out delivering fun and entertainment to NGU Campus.

2- Karate Club

Perhaps the most famous of martial arts, this soon-to-be Olympic sport is now available for all students at NGU. The Karate Club’s goal is to help students learn the sport’s primary techniques and strengthen their self-defense mechanisms. Students can participate just for fun, to increase their fitness, or with an eye to eventually become
a member of the NGU Karate team to participate in competitions.

3- Movere

As a Latin word, MOVERE means to move and motivate. MOVERE’s mission is to organize various club activities ranges from supportive discussion groups to mental targeting and fund-raising events.

4- Music

Music Club provides a platform for students to express their musical talents. In addition, the music club intends to form a band that will perform during university events.

5- (PAL) Peer Assisted Learning 

PAL’s aim is to re-teach more complicated lectures in innovative, simpler, and easier to digest ways. PAL is an extremely successful learning method; its basic premise is that it is ‘for the students, by the students”, and it allows every student at NGU to learn at their own pace.

6- REV-ART

Rev-Art Club is an outlet for those with a passion for drawing, painting, and the digital arts. The Club will work
towards establishing a network of independent artists at the NGU campus, which can then expand to include artists from partner universities. As a mission for its first year of operation, Rev-Art Club aims to produce several short films and put on a theatre production.

7- Royal Club

A social and noble club that aims to help big medical organizations like Our Dream Organization. Whether by volunteering or by hosting events and activities Our Dream Organization aims to fight stunting and bad nutrition in children by making awareness campaigns for families about the importance of the breastfeeding and nutrition to children during the first 10 years. Volunteers will be oriented about child nutrition to be able to raise awareness among Egypt later on several events

8- Debate Club

The club aims to spread the art of debates; how students can present their ideas and opinions with confidence along with becoming aware of the controversy. Our members learn very crucial skills that will help them throughout their lives like presentation skills, persuasive techniques and public speaking. These soft skills will be delivered in our training sessions that will be held by the beginning of the academic year

9- Titans Club

The club aims to focus on the well-being of each individual, whether it be mentally or physically. We plan to hold many events to achieve this goal, as well as help each one of you reach their best version of themselves
This committee is responsible for researching nutritional plans and fitness programs to fit each of our members. We largely focus on personalized plans as well as the state of the individual to create a sustainable route to well-being. The committee will also be responsible for carrying out surveys and collecting the data required for a wholesome understanding of the interactions between our environment and the Individual.

10- NGU Theatre and cinema club

NGU Theatre & Cinema club is a club that aims to develop students talents and perform a yearly professional play.

11- The arthouse

The Arthouse is a club that aims to inspire NGU students to demonstrate their creativity in the form of beautiful stills, whether in the form of drawings, paintings, photographs, or sculptures.

12- NGU Ink Society

This club is for the students who have the talent of writing poems – Novels – Stories

 

Accreditation

Endorsed by Presidential Decree on April 2010, NGU initially focused on the launching of three main schools: Medicine, Pharmacy, and Dentistry.

The university first opened its doors in 2016, and since then, its schools have been witnessing a continual growth including fields other than healthcare, until it became a truly multidisciplinary university. NGU’s ongoing collaborations with globally-ranked academic institutions further cemented its growing reputation as a professional institute of higher education.
